The Best Valentine's bouquet ever!
So, I know I'm a little late on posting about Valentine's day but better late than never I always say. My sweet, sweet, sweetie gave me the sweetest bouquet ever. I loved it.
I didn't hurt that It was loaded with chocolate strawberries.

This is the snow that never ends!
This is the snow that never ends.
Yes it keeps coming down my friends.
Yes it keeps coming down my friends.
Some people started liking it not knowing what it was.
And they'll be crazy just for liking it, forever, just because.
This is the snow that never ends...
(sung to the tune of "this is the song that never ends" )
Thankfully it did stop snowing even though the snow stuck around for a few days. Little did we know then that we would be in for even more snow later in the month. Seriously if it snows in March, I'M MOVING! Preferrably somewhere it NEVER snows. I'll move to another planet if necessary. Chandler is always telling me I must be from Venus 'cause I'm always cold everywhere else. Well, home planet here I come.
Here are some pictures from the next day. We have some neighbors that are from New Orleans and they thought the snow was a perfect media in which to give their favorite foosball team a nod.

OMG the snow... don't you know this is Texas we're not supposed to get SNOW!!!
I guess I am the only person in the world that doesn't like snow. Don't get me wrong, I think it's beautiful looking out my window from under a warm and coozy blanket. But, I think that is it's only redeeming quality. And I guess God didn't get the memo that it only snows an inch every other year in Texas. I hate having to worry whether or not I can get out of my house (I have a steep driveway). I hate worrying if Chandler can get home safely from work. I hate having cabin fever. You people in the north are very special 'cause I don't think I can do it any more.
Now, that being said there is literally nothing I wouldn't do for my kids. I did go out yesterday and actually picked Ethan up from school. And I went to the store to "try" and get snow gear. I was able to snag one snow bib for Ethan on clearance. BECAUSE IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO SNOW IN TEXAS. I tried to get myself some wellies which were all gone by the time I got there. So I went from completely soaked tennis shoes to only mostly soaked UGG (imitaton) boots.
After we got ready for the snow we went out and built ourselves a bonafied snowman. We were out for 2 hours but it was a pretty good snowman if I do say so myself. Ethan did great in his new bib. He stayed warm and dry the whole time. Poor Christian however was a different story. I think he likes the snow about as much as I do. It wasn't too long before he started getting whiney. He didn't want to be cold anymore but he also didn't want to go inside away from the fun either. By the time I dragged him in kicking and screaming, he was freezing and wet. I took his clothes off and put warm dry ones on and that's when he started shivering and panting. It was kind of scary. A new reason not to like the snow.
I imagine we'll go back out there today. I guess we should enjoy it while it lasts. And I mean enjoy in the "this completely sucks" sort of a way.

Almost a foot of snow... this is madness!
Christian isn't happy already. He's lost a mitten and won't put it back on.
Ethan and our snowman masterpiece.
Chandler digging out his car. Not really digging but do you get the impression that I'm being a little melodramatic about this whole thing.

Grandparents Day at SMG
February 4th was Grandparents Day at Ethan's school. Ethan was really lucky because he got to have both his Mimi and Abuela (my grandma) there with him that day. They got to go to mass and actually sit with their Grandparents that day. They don't usually let them sit with family at the school mass, they have to stay with their class. So, after mass the school hosted a lovely breakfast for the grandparents while the kids went on to class for a bit and the GPs could join up with them later.
A couple of days later they had donuts for the parents before school. No big production, no flowers, no balloons, none of those great little quiches that I love although I do understand it was just supposed to be donuts. However, come on, it's bad enough that the people who actually pay the tuition only get one stinking donut. And I do mean 1. They stamped your hand so you couldn't go back for more. Can we at least have some fan fare. Oh I digress.
Grandparents Day was great. They got to do a craft together and play a game. They also got to go to the Catholic book fair so they could squeeze some dough out of the GPs for a change. I'm kidding of course. Fun was had by all and I'm sooooooo glad my mom and Grandma got to be a part of Ethan's day to day stuff.

Saying goodbye!

Cuddly Christian
It's both a blessing and a curse. Having a cuddly kid that is. I love, love, love how every morning after I get Ethan off to school, I sit down on the couch, curl up under a blanket and eat a bagle. No sooner do I have my blanket on then Christian climbs up on my lap and pulls the blanket up over himself and snuggles in to watch AFV with me. We share my bagle and chill for a while.
And now for the curse part... Every time I get on my computer, or sit down anywhere for that matter, Christian comes bounding up to sit on my lap. I haven't typed with both hands for almost 2 years.
Here are some pictures of us at my desk, in front of the computer, Christian on my lap, happy as a clam. I guess there could be worse things than to have a baby boy whose favorite thing is cuddling on your lap.
